Install TWRP on Redmi note 4 Snapdragon 625 and root | iTech


I will show you  hassel free, time and effort saving tutorial for INSTALLING TWRP and ROOTING  Redmi Note 4





Quick Pre-requisites:

  1. The following rooting process is compatible only with Redmi Note 4. Don’t try on any other model. and it testet with the MIUI 8.5.8 [Android 7]
  2. Make sure bootloader of your device is unlocked. If not, check HERE for complete tutorial.
  3. Dont do this if your battery is less than 30% 
  4. Enable USB Debugging and Developer options from Settings.If you dont know hot to enable then click here  How to enable USB Debugging on Redmi Note 4.
  5. Backup all your data to a safe location in order to restore if any data loss occurs.
Important: Do it in your own risk. We are not resposible for any damage 

Now follow these steps-


1. Download SuperSu zip file and save on your device storage.

2. Download TWRP Recovery file on your PC

3. Open the extracted folder and launch command window. To do it,press and hold the ‘shift’ key and right click anywhere in ADB folder. Open the extracted folder, You will see like this

4. Now connect the device with PC using a USB cable and reboot it into fastboot mode by giving the following command:
adb reboot bootloader
Put following  command to flash TWRP recovery on your Redmi Note 4.
fastboot devices 
The above command checks a valid connection between your device and PC. Now you will see something like this. if not then dont proceed

Now put this command

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Now fllashing is done 
put this again 
fastboot boot recovery.img
This command boots your device into recovery mode.
5. Once you’re in the recovery mode, select your preferred language and set it what you want. Just swipe to allow modifications.
6. Go to “Wipe” settings and perform “Format Data”.
7. Now from Recovery main menu, choose “Install Zip’ and locate “SuperSu.zip” file which you have copied to device storage.
8. Swipe to start flashing SuperSU on your device. 
9. Now again"Install zip" and locat "lazyflasher-no-verity-opt-encrypt" 
10. Swipe to start flashing lazyflasher-no-verity-opt-encrypt. Once done, choose “Reboot” to boot your device into normal mode.
That’s it! You have successfully rooted Redmi Note 4 and installed TWRP Recovery. For confirmation, Download and install an app called “Root Checker” on your device.

Note: if you dont want to root your device and only want to intsall TWRP recovery then step 5 to step 10 dont need to follow
